A personal story of transformation that directly impacted my business and clients.
My whole life I looked outside myself for the answers.
Taught to seek the expectations others had of me and meet them.
This became troublesome when I had my first great loss. My grandfather, more like a best friend, passed away when I was 11. And no one taught me how to grieve. My family had the approach we don't expose children to death so I was left alone to figure it out.
Then a month later, I was told I'm moving schools to learn French (smart to have in a bilingual province) and that none of my friends were coming with me. It was not up for discussion.
The result, a lost little girl inside with a smile on the outside. Meeting others' expectations.
My inner world was so overwhelming I began to find ways to ignore it. Started drinking when I was 12, drugs when I was 15 and in my early 20s I got clean and replaced it with working way too much. Starting with a full university course load plus working 30 hours a week then jumped on the corporate ladder of my career 60-80 hours a week.
At age 34, pregnant with our first born. I had a stillbirth at 8.5 months. My world as I knew it crumbled at that moment. Everything outside of myself felt so silly.
I found myself at a crossroads, do I numb this heart shattering pain or do I head heart first into it?
I chose heart first. I was not going to honor my son with substances or drown the memory of him in work.
I fell into the depths of my soul and this is what happened. I found myself. I also found a wealth of wisdom within me. You know they say the answers you seek are already within you. THEY ARE!

Your answers are not in your frustration, anger, sorrow, overwhelm, bitterness, freeze. These are just flagging you down because they have some wisdom to give you.
They are asking you to pause, slow down, see me, listen to what I have to say. They are telling you, you are in protection mode, tapped into your conditioning that is not serving. You are in the tunnel vision of your problem, on the hamster wheel of your thoughts. You are off track or need more information about the situation at hand.
They are asking you to create space. They are asking you to take a deep breath and expand your constricted muscles. Or get up and move. Put space between your thoughts for new ones to enter. Space between now and the decision to remove a false sense of urgency for clarity to enter.
In the created space: new ideas can enter, opportunities can be seen, creative solutions arise.
I call this your window of wisdom. The place you have clarity, confidence and knowing of what is right for your and your business. The place you filter outside advice. The place you are not a puppet of your conditioning or the expectations of others. You are standing in your wisdom.
This is where logic meets intuition. This is where momentum is gained in your business and profit. This is where self-trust and confidence are built.
I've seen it again and again with myself and my clients.
This window of wisdom took me from the corporate world to running my own business when experts told me it was a bad idea to open a business in a pandemic (2020) and I'm 4 years in.
My window of wisdom has led me through tough cashflow times when logic said it could not happen. It’s been 1.5 years since my husband left his job. I’m the sole income of the household with a debt load for two incomes (and the debt is going down). In that time I also took 4 months off in 2022 to grieve the passing of my mother and grandmother. And you know what? It all worked out.
